Manage your CadNic license, activations, and devices.

License Key Format

All CadNic license keys follow this format:

SS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

• 16 characters from an unambiguous alphabet: ABCDEFGHJKMNPQRSTUVWXYZ23456789
• Case-insensitive (lowercase input is automatically converted to uppercase)
• Never expires (perpetual license model)

Activation Limits

Activating a License

Via Desktop App

1. Launch CadNic
2. Enter your license key on the activation screen
3. Click Activate
4. Confirmation appears with device name and activation timestamp

Via API

Send a POST request to /api/v1/licenses/activate:

Deactivating a License

Deactivate a license when:

• Switching to a new device
• Selling or disposing of a device
• Troubleshooting activation issues

Via Desktop App

1. Open CadNic settings
2. Navigate to License tab
3. Click Deactivate
4. Confirm the action

Via API

Send a POST request to /api/v1/licenses/deactivate:

Recovering a Lost License

If you’ve lost your license key:

1. Visit the account portal
2. Enter the email used during purchase
3. Your license key will be emailed to you

Info: License recovery only works if you provided an email during purchase. For anonymous purchases, contact support with your order ID.

Transferring a License

To transfer a license to a new device:

1. Deactivate on the old device first
2. Activate on the new device
3. Confirmation email sent to registered email (if applicable)

Warning: Free tier licenses cannot be transferred. Upgrade to Pro for transfer capability.
